As the world’s largest repository of royalty-free video, the company has recently announced that its library of high-quality video clips now exceeds 4,000,000 (that’s four million!), as provided by its 40,000+ network of artists. In a testament to the exponential growth of the stock media industry, the last eight months alone have seen over 1,000,000 video clips uploaded to the servers, according to Pond5, making the company’s collection among the largest and fastest growing library online.
Pond5 also makes available over 336,000 video clips in 4K resolution, making the library the world’s largest repository of royalty-free 4K footage. The company also supports cutting-edge technologies, such as support for Redcode RAW (R3D) and the introduction of 8K resolution 160-degree green screen back lots.
Pond5 does not limit themselves to video either, as the start of 2015 saw them releasing 80,000 public domain photos, 3D models and audio clips, along with video clips (overall the library now holds 18+ million photos, illustrations, music tracks, sound effects, motion graphic templates and 3D models). Dubbed the Pond5 Public Domain Project, it includes archived material (such as relating to NASA, rare music recordings, public works projects, etc.) dating back to the 19th century.
Video from Pond5 can be found in movie and TV productions, with examples being Iron Man and Thor, Saturday Night Live and AMC’s Walking Dead. Based in New York and with offices throughout the world, the stock agency provides content creators with the opportunity to set their own prices for sale of their content.
