Make Your RAID a Rugged RAID at CES 2015

We like hard drives, and at CES we’re bound to find more, though we don’t expect to find many that are more professionally-minded than this. LaCie’s Rugged RAID is putting portable drives on another level. The security and performance of RAID drives are often touted as one of the safest ways to keep video files. If you’ve ever needed to deliver a hard drive to a client, or travel with one, you know portability features matter.

With RAID 0 and RAID 1 in the Rugged RAID, you can get more creative on your projects, and the 4TB capacity will make it easier to take on projects of a greater scope. If you opt for performance, the Rugged RAIDs 240MB/s speed is nothing to scoff at, otherwise, look to both Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 to better manage your workload. The Rugged RAID is resistant to drops of five feet, one ton of pressure, and sealed against dust and water.

Using the Rugged RAID will test for us, if the attached cable functions well, and if the removable panel won’t be misplaced. We can’t wait to see to torture tests, and if you want to see for yourself, the time is near, with shipping in the first quarter of 2015. The Rugged RAID goes for $429 and comes with a substantial 3-year warranty.
