Corel VideoStudio X6, released a year ago, ramped up the power with impressive new technology for an under-$100 consumer product, including motion tracking with customizable paths, DSLR camera control and stop motion, and Ultra HD (4K) video support. And now Corel has just announced the new VideoStudio X7, which is less focused on piling on new technology, but instead responds to customer feedback by addressing more general issues of enhanced performance, ease of use, and creative effects.
The big performance step in X7 is to full-up 64-bit support, which especially benefits complex multi-track and high-res 4K projects. Corel's benchmarks show up to 200% faster rendering than X6 for HD multitrack and 4K projects, and 800% faster with 4K smart rendering. The VideoStudio X7 Ultimate bundle then adds seven powerful special effects applications from NewBlue and proDAD, all also with 64-bit performance. For better ease of use, VideoStudio X7 has a cleaner, streamlined interface with a variety of helpful enhancements. But the major new addition is the FastFlick easy editing mode to create and share slideshows and videos with a quick 3 step process. Just select a template, add media, and share online. You also can customize with titles and music, or transfer to VideoStudio for further editing.
For creative effects, Corel has totally revamped the included content libraries, including media, templates, frames, and objects. There's also a new color pattern and background library for additional creative options.
VideoStudio Pro X7 is available now for $79.99 ($59.99 upgrade) in English, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Chinese Traditional and Japanese. The VideoStudio Ultimate X7 bundle with the 64-bit special effects pack is $99.99 ($79.99 upgrade).
