Nikon announced their new DX-format D7100 DSLR this morning. The camera comes equipped with a 24MP DX-format CMOS sensor (23.5mm) and EXPEED 3 image processing engine. In addition to all the still photography features (outlined in the press release below) videographers will be most interested in the following features:
- Maxiumum resolution of 1920×1080
- Maximum frame rate of 30p at 1080 or 60p for 720
- Full-time autofocus and manual exposure control while recording
- 3.5mm stereo mic jack (manually adjustable levels)
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- HDMI out (no word on uncompressed video out)
- Dual SD card slots
- H.264/MPEG-4
The Nikon D7100 is priced $1,199.95 for the body or $1,599.95 for the body and the 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Expect to see it on the market in March 2013.
