If you missed our March issue, we reviewed the bigger version of this device, the Samson Zoom H4. Now, Samson has shrunk it down and created the Zoom H2 (seen above). This model still records in 16-bit or 24-bit at 96kHz or 48kHz WAV audio files. You can also record in MP3 format, up to 320 kbps. It has it's obvious on-board mic and an 1/8" mini mic input, too. Unfortunately, the device is not SDHC capatible, which means you're limited to a maximum 4 GB SD memory card. We're waiting for a few more facts to roll in, such as the price and when they plan to ship. For now, what peaks our interest is that a foursome of these things could really help create a surround sound experience.
