Imagine Products, Inc. announces the release and general availability of HD Log-X, Built for Mac OS X. A new Cocoa application, HD Log version X is an organizational tool used to quickly index and catalog video from serial (RS422) or FireWire decks in preparation for editing, archiving or sharing.

HD Log-X is specifically designed for users of Apple Computers Final Cut Pro HD, Avid Technology, Inc., Media100, Adobe Systems, and Accom editors. See complete details at

HD Log-X directly controls the deck transport functions through RS422 or FireWire for detailed video logging without pre-digitizing. The software allows transcriptions and unlimited clip notes with on-the-fly spell checking. It marks timecode, grabs JPEG thumbnails, sorts and prints storyboards. Mark just the best shots for batch capture lists or printing.

HD Log-X doesn’t require pre-digitizing. The logger extracts crisp, clean JPEGs and clip timecodes of video on-the fly. It can be used in the field to grab clips right off the camera for immediate annotation and access. Imagine sells accessories such as a USB Video Capture cable and Pocket LTC Timecode Reader to facilitate field logging from HD without DV downconverting, or from traditional analog sources such as BetaCam.

The easy to use floating video Monitor-Controller puts you in charge of the logging process. It features familiar commands including Jog and Shuttle, and short-cut keys for each. Unlike most editors, timecode is constantly displayed, and you can re-position the controller anywhere on the screen.

The software also works seamlessly with Contour Design, Inc.s Jog and Shuttle Controllers. This collaboration gives users the ability to control frequently used commands with the touch of a button on the external controller, and enables jog wheel control of RS422 or FireWire decks. The pre-configured settings for ShuttleXpress and ShuttlePro are available for download.

The price for the HD Log-X software is $299US, Requires OS X 10.2.3 or higher. Accessories for deck control, shuttle controller, USB video capture, portable timecode reader and RS422 serial cables are available directly from the Imagine Products Web site, . Download a demo of HD Log-X today.
