Torrance, CA – (July 10, 2002) – Ulead Systems, Inc., a leading developer of video and image editing, and Web graphics software, announced new and improved audio and video features for DVD Workshop with the 1.2 Power Patch. DVD Workshop is Ulead’s advanced DVD authoring software product which recently won Editor’s Choice awards from EMedia and Animation Magazine.
DVD Workshop 1.2 enables videographers to author DVDs with broader set-top player support by encoding LPCM audio. DVD Workshop 1.2 eliminates the hassle of re-encoding and maintains the quality of source video with Multiple Video Title Set support (Multi-VTS). Multi-VTS enable users to mix various DVD-compliant video files such as MPEG-1 VCD files, 16:9 ratios, different bit rate qualities and Half D1 into one DVD project. Users can author and burn DVDs even faster with DVD Workshop’s improved burning performance and superior MPEG.Now encoding, which makes DV-to-MPEG file capture and transcoding up to 59% faster.
“We’ve been encouraged by the overwhelming response from the market since we released DVD Workshop in February,” says Travis White, DVD authoring product manager at Ulead. “We have received excellent press on DVD Workshop’s ease and flexibility, but we have also listened to suggestions on how to improve from our 1.0 release. With these technological updates, we expect DVD Workshop to gain even greater success in this mid-level authoring space.”
Other 1.2 Power Patch enhancements include burning support for new DVD+R drives, improved motion menu button quality, ADS USB Instant DVD device support, correct file information and import of AVI files created in Adobe Premiere, and increased reliability in burning large projects (4GB+ DVDs; 600MB+ CDs). There is also enhanced support of the Ulead PhotoImpact Object (UFO) file format, allowing for easy import of any graphic object as a button or decorative element within DVD Workshop menus.
The DVD Workshop 1.2 Power Patch is a free download for all registered DVD Workshop users at http://www.ulead.com/tech/dws/dws_ftp.htm.
