MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Pinnacle Systems, Inc. announced today Pinnacle Pro-ONE 2.0 and Pinnacle Pro-ONE RTDV — two advanced real-time DV editing and authoring solutions. Pro-ONE 2.0 significantly extends the capabilities of the current Pro-ONE product through enhanced software to enable automatic scene detection, motion tracking, advanced color correction, lens flares, faster MPEG encoding, and editing of MPEG video. Pro-ONE RTDV includes all the capabilities of Pro-ONE 2.0 and adds the ability to output timelines to a DV camcorder or a DV deck in real-time — without any rendering.

“I’ve been using Pinnacle editing solutions to produce documentaries and travelogues for three years,” said Gary Gillam, a 20-year veteran in the video industry and owner of Richmond, VA-based G2 Productions. “The ability to output 2-D and 3-D transitions, composites of multiple layers of digital video, 3-D effects and text in real time means no more waiting. As an independent film producer, time is money; and Pro-ONE RTDV makes me instantly more productive.”

With the improved workflow that Pro-ONE RTDV offers, businesses and professional videographers, corporate video producers, event videographers, and multimedia artists have the ability to substantially reduce project completion schedules or simply spend more time exploring their creativity.

“We’ve extended the real-time capabilities of the Pro-ONE so that the professional video editor can be so much more creative and productive,” said Bill Loesch, vice president of product management and engineering for Pinnacle Systems’ Business & Consumer Division said. For example, now you can have a lens flare, title, or graphic track a moving object within a video clip by using the motion tracker filter; see the result in real-time; and output the result in real-time to DV tape without having to render.”
