MedioStream’s neoDVDstandard Bundled with New Hitachi PCs

Reprinted from a MedioStream press release:

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 16 /PRNewswire/ — MedioStream, a leading provider of PC-based software for recording video to DVDs and CDs, today announced that Hitachi PC is bundling MedioStream’s neoDVDstandard authoring software with its new line of Prius Deck PCs, which feature both DVD-RAM/R and CD-R/RW drives. The Prius Deck PCs are currently available in Japan only.

“We’re very pleased that Hitachi PC has selected MedioStream’s software for its new line of personal computers,” said Gordon Doran, MedioStream’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With the PC market getting more and more competitive, bundling these kinds of recordable drives and consumer-friendly authoring software makes tremendous sense.”

Hitachi PC is the latest successful partnership for MedioStream, and its first bundling agreement with a PC manufacturer. The company announced earlier that it had formed bundling arrangements with Ricoh Europe, Ricoh Japan, and Sony Electronics for their latest generation of DVD+RW drive.

“Hitachi has always been on the forefront of the DVD revolution with an impressive suite of DVD products for consumers, including camcorders, players, and storage devices,” said Takuya Matsumoto, Hitachi PC’s Senior Engineer of Personal System Development. “By bundling the new line of Prius Deck PCs with neoDVDstandard, our customers can take video, burn it to a disc, and watch it on a set-top box, all using Hitachi equipment.”
