FREMONT, Calif., July 2 /PRNewswire/ — InterVideo, Inc. announced the immediate availability of WinProducer 3 DVD and WinProducer 3 CD, the latest versions of InterVideo’s movie-making software, which features the ability to create and burn personalized DVD, VCD, SVCD, mini-DVD, MPEG-4 and DivX movies.
“Millions of users around the world already rely on InterVideo’s DVD software to watch movies on their computers,” said Steve Ro, CEO and co- founder of InterVideo. “WinProducer takes the DVD experience one step further by letting consumers create and burn their own DVDs or VCDs, or even MPEG-4 and DivX movies. With WinProducer you can take that old box of videotapes in your basement and transform it into long-lasting VCDs or DVDs that you can play in your living room or mail to friends and family.”
InterVideo’s WinProducer is an all-in-one application designed to take a first-time moviemaker from the camera to the couch in a snap. It features a drag-and-drop interface to easily edit raw footage and add titles, transitions, effects and music to make a home movie. WinProducer then walks the user through the DVD/VCD creation process using templates for themes, previews, menus, chapters and more. Finally, it lets users burn the finished movies onto DVD disks, if a DVD burner is available. Or, for PCs with CD burners, WinProducer can burn a VCD (Video Compact Disk) or mini-DVD (DVD content burned on a CD) movie onto a CD-R disk. Both DVDs and VCDs can be played in commercial and software DVD players.
The difference between the 2 versions is the burning capabilities. WinProducer 3 CD enables burning to CD disks via a CD burner only, while WinProducer 3 DVD supports burning to both CD and DVD burners and disks.
Both versions support DivX, SVCD, VCD and DVD formats for importing, editing and burning. To import, edit and burn DivX movies the DivX codec must be installed on the user’s computer. WinProducer does not include the DivX codec, but it is freely available on the Web. Both versions feature the ability to convert movies to MPEG-4. MPEG-4 is an emerging video standard that many pundits predict will be to web video what MP3 was to web audio. MPEG-4 is near-DVD quality video at about 1/12 the file size and can be used for applications ranging from streaming video to video on PDAs to computer video.
WinProducer also features a number of tools associated with professional- level video editing products. These include instant previewing without rendering, a multi-track timeline, precise frame-accurate editing, instant previews without rendering and automatic scene-break detection. In addition, WinProducer can combine video in MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DV and AVI formats with digital images and music from CDs or other sources. WinProducer also utilizes InterVideo’s proprietary Unipass Technology, which means that the DVD authoring is part of the editing process, not an add-on like other programs. Unipass means that WinProducer only renders your movie once, not once after editing and again after adding DVD content, saving you hours of movie-making time.
System Requirements and Availability
The recommended system for WinProducer 3 CD and WinProducer 3 DVD is a 400Mhz Intel Celeron processor with 64Mb of RAM running Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. It also works best with a Windows-compatible sound card and speakers, and a Video card with 24-bit resolution capability and DirectX support. Also needed for installation is a CD-ROM drive and a 7200 RPM hard disk with 10 MB of hard disc space.
WinProducer 3 comes in two versions: WinProducer 3 CD ($79.95), which can burn to CD burners and WinProducer 3 DVD ($149.95), which can burn to DVD burners and CD burners. Both are available immediately at http://www.intervideo.com/.
