Digital Origin and THOMSON Multimedia Partner to Deliver Digital Video Editing Solutions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.–May 18, 2000–Digital Origin, a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Media 100 Inc. (NASDAQ:MDEA) and the
leading provider of digital video (DV) editing and effects software
applications, today announced it is partnering with consumer
electronics giant, THOMSON multimedia to deliver digital video editing
solutions to its expansive DV camcorder customer base throughout
Europe. As a result of this partnership, THOMSON multimedia – one of
the largest suppliers of consumer electronics products in the world –
will leverage its pan-european distribution channels to deliver
Digital Origin’s IntroDV digital video editing software with its
high-end DV camcorders to customers in the UK, France, Germany and
Eastern Europe.

This partnership underscores a significant trend in Europe toward
the creation of streaming media content for delivery on the Internet
and the rapid adoption of DV solutions for consumers, enthusiasts and
Internet professionals to transform the Internet into a personal
broadcast medium. With this announcement, Digital Origin and THOMSON
multimedia are providing its customers with DV solutions to
essentially enable them connect their DV cameras to the web.
