Sierranomad, he says in the title that he is using dvd Architect, so I think that answers that question.September 5, 2005 at 7:05 AM in reply to: Why does Media Studio Pro get little or no attention? #191405
The reason that it is easy to learn and teach is because it is meant to be that way. It is meant for hobby editors not pros. You can not do everything on a ulead program that you can on Premiere Pro, Avid or FCP. It’s just not made for pro use. But alot of hobby editors do use it. It’s cheap and gets the job done for simple things. If that is all you need to do than I’m sure it’s great software.
I think Vegas is more complicated than Premiere. I’ve never used Elements before, just Premiere Pro, but I would say you get what you pay for. Elements is $100 and PP is around $600 or so. As far as dvd authoring I have Encore but have yet to use it (or learn it). I do know that with cheaper dvd authoring software your not going to have the control to customize your dvd as much, your kinda at the mercy of the pre-programed templates. If you are fine with that than by all means get what you need. I plan on doing alot of short and full length films so making my stuff look pro is very important to me, but if your just looking for more of a hobby than something like Elements should do just fine.
I always heard this movie was shot with a XL2, I could be wrong. Where did you hear that it was shot with a vx2000?
I’ve seen video shot with hd cameras like the FX1, and it was awsome. I would say that if you can get a good 3chip hd camcorder than go for it. Don’t think you are going to edit your hd footage with your sd footage though, it just would not match at all. If you must use two cameras than get either two sd cameras or two hd cameras.
I never heard of your camera before but if it a pricey one and you don’t want to get rid of it you could buy a cheap minidv and use that to capture. It would also save your heads on the other camera, which is a nice bonus too.
I have heard MANY people say they get “dirty head” errors but never that it does not recognize the tape. Could this be the same problem? I own a GL1 and love it.
Glad I could help.
I got paid a bag of peanuts and table scraps. I feel ripped off.
I have After Effects 6.5 pro and that has a shatter effect under effects> simulation>shatter. That should be what your looking for.
I don’t use Vegas, I’m an Adobe man myself, but my friend uses Vegas and has Magic Bullet 1.1 and that adds a load of plugins
If you are talking about the effect of making certain things black and white with color objects inside your b/w than most pro quality nle’s will be able to do this. I’ve done it in Premiere Pro. All you do is use the “color pass” filter, isolate a color with your eye dropper, than turn down your similarity. Add a track on top of that and you’ve got your effect. Just be carefull picking a red color if there is pink or orange in your shot because it will show through and give you an unpleasant look.
