My next video is about my Irish grandfather, Dominick Doherty. He died in 1943 from untreated alcoholism in Melbourne's first lunatic asylum. Back when alcoholism was seen as a disgrace, the family hushed up Dominick Doherty's lunacy. BUT a cousin dug up the truth. So I set to work in 2014 when Tony Abbott was Australia's Prime Minister. Tony hated refugees and boat people. My video is about the lives and times of my ancestors: Dominick and Charlotte Doherty.

The video by Kurt 6 is superb. Part of your music reminds me of an Australian ABC-News promo

My last Radio Graham video featured Canberra's Light Rail's initiative. Today I'll present the first of four Radio Graham travel videos from Canberra to Sydney.

Australia's national capital city, Canberra, was founded on 12 March 1913. From then until 2018, Canberra has had no suburban train or tram. All public and private transport relied upon rubber-tyred vehices. But times have changed. Canberra's light-rail initiative (run on electricity) will cost about One Billion Dollars

Whenever I go into a DVD shop, the DVDs are arranged in an A to Z order. At home, my DVDs were scattered all over the place. So I set to work to construct a DVD Library with an A to Z order.

Canberra TWO: In 2018, I saw the same site, cleansed and rebadged as Founders Lane. A Founders Lane exhibition entices people of quality to buy off-the-plan units. Public housing is being demolished all along Northbourne Avenue. What about homeless people? Dumped into bleak outer suburbs. There are two Liberal parties in the ACT. Liberal Party One is led by Alistair Coe. Liberal Party Two is led by Andrew Barr. What happened to the ACT Labor Party? It died from greed, cupidity and shame.

Some history: the Commonwealth Government ran Canberra until 1988. From 1988, the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has been self-governing. Unlike the six state governments, the ACT Government relies heavily on revenues from land-based taxes, rates, levies and stamp duties. The Greens say that 4000 sites are to be released for development this year. By way of contrast for this year, only 143 sites will be released for public housing. The founding fathers of the ACT never dreamed that we'd have two Canberras. Canberra ONE: In 2017 I saw more the 1000 public tenants losing their homes to bulldozers.

When I went to my local video shop, they had a DVD that I wanted. When I got home, I found that I already that DVD. The next week, the same thing happened. So I decided to build a Video Library at home that would have an A to Z listing so I'd never buy a DVD again that I already owned. PS: Some history is included.

As I was busy today (with the video about the Rock Concert near the Sydney Opera House) I didn't get to today's Australia Day festivities. Instead, on the 2011 Australia Day, 'New' Australians got a kiss and a cuddle from the Prime Minister.
