Thanks so much for the advice. I have never done paid Cinematography gigs so this was just something put together of stuff that I’ve filmed. As for the aerial shots, I was on vacation in Hawaii and happened to go on a helicopter tour and being who I am I brought my camera and tripod and just filmed from out of the window. These comments are so helpful as I am only 13 and am still developing my shooting style and still figuring out what works and what doesn’t.

The water and sky looked great to begin with but I played around with the RGB settings to getthe wholeshotto look better. Also the funny thing about lost was that the place wasn’t even a golf course!

I also film church services for my very small chruch (about 50 people). I use my own equitment. A canon fs200 hooked upto my soundboard and I have a wireless LAV going into the soundboard. I have the manera on a manfretto tripod. I currently use one camera but I have a second that I can use. I edit the services on pinnacle studio ultimate. I use acouple”churchy”video loops from movietools.biz and bingo I have a church servie.

I am quite lucky because I am an actor and I have been in 7 productions with this theatre. This proticular one (Narina the Musical) I have been in 2 times. So I know the stage and area. I also was going to film a dress rehersal insted of the real show. Bruce, I have a panisonic dv with a zoom mic. so I could keep that one trained on the stage. Thanks so much!

From what I know from taking to some VFX guys after effects is mostly for… well after effects. I persoonally would wait till he is mabe 16 or so for after effects. I don’t have it but i’ve seen it before and it’s relly complex and it’s at a price of $999. Also adobe has a free trial.

    Good Luck!
