I’d like to capture the output of my video switcher, and be able to hand a flash drive to the client at the end of a shoot. I don’t necessarily need a recorder that uses flash drives directly. Copying the file would be no big deal. Looking at recorders from Atomos and Black Magic, these seem to only offer enormous edit friendly codecs. Or at least that’s what the specs lead me to think. Transcoding would just take too long. Anyone know of a dedicated portable recorder that can do this?
