  I need a video app that can be used for very simple edits, like simple picture manipulation, also need a vide edit app that can help me break down videos into 1 minute / 60 second snippets + compression for more convenient uploads

  I like Movavi. You can edit photos and videos, there is a free version. You can also edit audio files. Everything can be combined in one video.
