Ed Sheeran`s on stage animation

I was watching:

And I cant figure out, if big screen animation is pre-made, or is it live recorded thru some advanced filters and programs?

Is there any software or even smart phone based camera app, that would allow me do do something similiar in real time?

Please leave out comments about after effects and/or post production.
