Anamorphic lens or cropping?

Hi. I recently setup together an iPhone 7plus, FilmicPro and Osmo Mobile 2 to make some videos…The moondog or moment anamorphic lenses seem interesting, but I wonder how much different using those will be from simply choosing the anamorphic frame in the app setting….I know this is not going to use the full sensor, just cropping it, but as far as displaying the video is concerned, will it really make a difference? Just a short test video I made with this set up, graded in LumaFusion, just to make my point…pity I don’t have the lens to compare…

      PS: YouTube compression sucks…!
