At CES 2026, Lexar marked a major milestone: 30 years in the storage business. While the company showcased new products on the show floor, Lexar also hosted a dedicated anniversary event that focused on its history, its future and the partners shaping its next chapter. We attended Lexar’s event at CES 2026, kicking off its 30th year, and the message was clear. While Lexar is celebrating its major feats and growth over the past three decades in the storage industry, it’s also got many exciting things in store. The event highlighted how the company is using this anniversary as a reset, not a look back, with a clear emphasis on momentum and long-term vision.
At the event, Lexar leaned into its three-decade legacy while emphasizing that its biggest growth opportunities are still ahead. Executives and product leaders spoke about how the company has evolved from early memory cards into a broader storage ecosystem built for creators, gamers and emerging AI-driven devices.

A global partnership takes center stage
Lexar announced at its event that it’s partnering with the Argentine Football Association. The collaboration goes beyond branding and signals Lexar’s push into high-visibility global partnerships. By aligning with one of the most recognized football organizations in the world, Lexar is positioning itself as a performance-driven brand that connects with both professional athletes and everyday creators.

The partnership also reflects Lexar’s interest in reaching younger, global audiences who live at the intersection of sports, content creation and mobile technology. At the event, the partnership was framed as a long-term relationship that supports Lexar’s broader push into mainstream culture.

Product highlights for creators on the move
On the product side, Lexar shared details on two releases. From a technology perspective, the Professional Silver Plus 2TB microSD card drew strong attention. As storage demands grow for drones, action cameras and mobile devices, the jump to higher-capacity microSD cards is becoming essential. Lexar framed this product as a practical solution for creators who want longer recording times without changing their workflows.

The Lexar Air Portable SSD was the other major talking point. Its ultra-lightweight design and emphasis on portability align closely with how many creators work today. Rather than pitching raw speed alone, Lexar focused on mobility, ease of use and fast backups in the field.
Looking ahead with AI Storage Core
Beyond individual products, Lexar spent considerable time discussing its AI Storage Core initiative. At the event, this was framed less as a consumer product and more as foundational technology. Lexar described the AI Storage Core as an OEM-level solution designed to be embedded into other products, including cameras, vehicles and smart devices.
The goal is to support AI-driven workflows such as real-time analysis, high-resolution imaging and sensor fusion. While still emerging, the initiative signals that Lexar is thinking beyond removable media and toward integrated storage systems that support future devices.
What the anniversary event says about Lexar’s future
Overall, we found the event reinforced Lexar’s confidence in its position within the storage market. There was pride in the past, but the focus remained on scale, partnerships and infrastructure for the next generation of devices. For videographers, that translates to faster cards, more portable SSDs and storage designed to handle increasingly complex workloads across production, post-production and mobile workflows.
As Lexar celebrates 30 years, the anniversary event made one thing clear. The company doesn’t see this milestone as a victory lap. It sees it as a launch point. By combining high-profile partnerships, creator-focused products and long-term AI infrastructure, Lexar is setting expectations for what its next decade will look like across consumer, professional and embedded markets.
