When I was a lad I wanted to

When I was a lad I wanted to be farmer like my Uncle Jim who ran cattle. The closest I got was running hens and ducks in our Canberra backyard and hosting overseas university students in our home. When Tong Liu graduated from the Australian National University his father came from China for the ceremony. His father imports Australian wheat to make noodles. So with Maureen we went to Harden in New South Wales to see where wheat is grown. At the end of this video I quote from Banjo’s Paterson’s poem:
‘Song Of The Wheat’
