to get rgb from a computer you are going to need to get a scan converter since scan rates are different between computers and cameras
#1 you are not going to get any noticeable difference with component cabling
#2 as i stated earlier. since the cameras are all standard definition there isnt going to be a noticeable difference between s-video and component. the only reason that i would run component cabling is to make it easier to upgrade to hi-def.
#3 i would go with th canon xh g1
#4 the best place to put a signal amplifier is in the middle of the run. you may also need to use a SIMA color corrector at the endo of this run
