Though Final Cut Pro claims to support MP4 format, sometimes Final Cut Pro won’t play MP4 files. This is probably because the codec of MP4 is not supported by Final Cut Pro. You know, MP4 is just a container format encoded by various video&audio codecs. As a general user like me, you may not get familiar with various video&audio codecs. So the direct solution is to convert video file to MP4 (H.264/AAC) which is well compatible with Final Cut Pro.
