This sounds more like a DVD authoring issue than an editing program issue. Can’t you just create a menu on the DVD that has chapter buttons for each performance? Once the viewer has watched performance 3, for example, she can return to the main menu, select another chapter and jump directly to it.
You could even create sub-menus: one for dances from Miss Emily’s school, another for Miss Marion’s, etc.
