The “blue box” is just the input/output plugs (RCA & Svideo). The box plugs into the internal analog-to-digital converter card that Pinnacle calls the AVDV card. It has worked pretty well, considering I copy the entire Hi8 tape to the hard drive before editing.
I’ve heard that Adobe Premiere doesn’t work, but wonder if other like Premiere Elements, Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5 or or Ulead VideoStudio9 might work.
If I need to buy Pinnacle Studio again, would it be worth waiting for version 10 to come out or just buy version 9? My version 8 seemed to work OK but I don’t know if the newer versions are better.
