No idea on both questions. However, from the overhead view it looks like there might be a lava tube or cavern beneath that neighborhood. I speculate because it seems to ‘go to black’ too abruptly at the bottom of the hole. If that’s the case, even a ‘junk shot’ wouldn’t do jack to fill up that hole. Maybe we could get BP to spill oil in it!
