I’m an ex Pinnacle user and can confirm the problems listed above. Why not go for Sony Vegas Movie studio + DVD Platinum edition. Very reasonable price and a remarkable program. Does not need a pentium 4 processor (Which Premier Elements requires) and is amazingly versatile. Needs a bit of practice and you can by books and videos on-line to help. Has never crashed which is more than i can say about pinnacle!!! There is also a good forum called Creative Calf for beginners which answer your questions very quickly.
