As an instrument or vocal mic, yes. As a shotgun mic, no. The condenser style and pickup pattern, Cardioid Polar Pattern, in the case of the M3, is too broad. While it is designed to help eliminate sounds from behind the mic, it won’t discriminate with sounds in front of and to a lesser extent, along side of the mic. Without a shotgun barrel to focus on only what is in front of it, it will just pickup too much ambient noise.
