If you were to boost all the audio levels at once, wouldn’t that be as much of a problem?
The loud talkers would be too loud. If you want to control the volume for each mic in real time, maybe you need another mixer. I use the Zoom R16, which is a digital recorder and mixer. It has 8 inputs and each input has it’s own gain and volume fader. It can output stereo in real time with two mono 1/4″ jacks. You can get an adapter at the other end to convert the stereo into mono and then to xlr to plug into your camera. It also has a master output volume fader. I can talk barely above a whisper a foot away from the mic and it is perfectly understandable.
