Vimeo Review looks to make collaboration easier than ever

Vimeo has launched a new tool to make collaborating on your video projects easier than ever. With Vimeo Review, you can share your videos for comments, track the progress of the review and sync comments directly with Adobe Premiere Pro.

All Vimeo plans

The Vimeo Review tools are available on all Vimeo plans. However, the paid tiers do add some advanced tools. The review tools are also part of the Vimeo Enterprise packages, aimed at larger teams and organizations. In addition, Vimeo Review is built into the Vimeo platform so there’s no need for separate review software or extra tools.

Using Review Links in Vimeo Review, you can gather private, time-coded feedback on your videos. To do this, you create custom review links to share with your collaborators. You can create multiple links with different settings for each video. This means that you can control who can download the video or change the status, for example.

Also, you can set passwords and expiration periods for each link.

Status

With Vimeo Review, you can choose a status for your video. The options are In Progress, Needs Review, and Approved. You can also upload multiple versions of a video to the same link so that collaborators can compare different edits. Switching between versions is as simple as selecting from a drop-down menu.

Review comments

When collaborators use their review link, they are prompted to enter their name and email before posting a comment. The video’s privacy setting is separate from the review link as well. This means that the person who received the review link can view the video regardless of its privacy status. Collaborators can then add time-stamped comments to the video, so it’s easy to many their feedback. Additionally, they can tag other guests with the @ symbol in their comments to help communicate their thoughts.

Premiere Pro

With Vimeo Review, you can sync collaborators’ comments directly with Adobe Premiere Pro. This makes it easy to see where edits or changes need to be made. Plus, you can export cuts from your Premiere Pro timeline straight to Vimeo once they have been amended.

What we think

Vimeo Review is a useful tool for anyone who works as part of a creative team. It’s also a quick and easy way to get feedback on your videos from your clients. Adding time-stamped comments avoids confusion over which parts of a video need more work. Being able to sync comments with your edit in Premiere Pro is also a great way to speed up re-edits. Hopefully, Vimeo can add compatibility with other editing programs in the future. If you already use Vimeo, the new Review feature is a fabulous asset. It might also tempt other video makers to move to the platform as well.

Pricing and availability

Vimeo Review tools are available on all Vimeo plans. However, some features require a Standard, Advanced, Pro, Business, Premium or Enterprise plan.
