This is what went down at Videomaker IRL in New York

We kicked off our third IRL meetup and professional networking event a couple of weeks ago on May 3rd in none other than the “Big Apple” itself: New York City.

We’ve been from coast to coast with our IRL meetups and it was wonderful to bring together video professionals out on the east coast. Previously, Videomaker held two meetups in San Francisco. The first was in the studio space at Beyond Pix in the south part of San Fran. Our follow-up meet was near the Mission district — closer to the central part of San Fran.

The IRL meetup in New York went off without a hitch. Attendees were able to meet and talk with fellow video professionals. Here’s what some of our guests had to say about the event:

“Thank you for the event — it was a great time and I look forward to future events in NYC!”

“It was wonderful. I had a great time. The two young ladies in charge of the event were friendly and professional.”

“Networking bingo was very good…”

We are a firm believer that it’s good to know what others are doing near you. And, with filmmakers from all walks of life and numerous creative agencies and recruiters, our IRL meetup provided a wealth of networking opportunities. You just never know when you’ll need a helping hand or vice versā.

Also in attendance were sponsors LaCie, Fluotec and Sony. Both LaCie and Fluotec gave away gear to a few lucky attendees. LaCie gave away two 2TB Rugged Mini Portable Hard Drives and Fluotec gave out three professional videographer’s vests. Sony also held hands-on demonstrations for the FS5 II, a7 III, PXW-Z90 and the PXW-Z190.

We all had a great time at Videomaker IRL in New York and we look forward to many more meetups in the future. If you want to attend a Videomaker IRL meetup, we’re planning events all around the United States through 2019 and 2020. You can check the schedule here.

We hope to see you at the next IRL meetup!
