Creative Solutions announced the Indie 7, the newest addition to its SmallHD product lineup. The popular Indie 7 provides entry-level filmmakers a “reliable” way to monitor shots, according to Creative Solutions.
“The Cine 7 and 702 Touch monitors have proven widely popular, especially with operators who use Camera Control for RED,” explained Dave Bredbury, Product Manager—Cine—at Creative Solutions. “With the announcement of KOMODO™ and other compact professional cameras, we saw the need to add a model to the series for those working on an independent budget. Indie 7 is that solution.”
Creative Solutions Indie 7 overview
The Indie 7 is built around a 7” 1080p display with a “hyper-responsive” touchscreen and “bright” daylight visibility according to Creative Solutions. It offers monitoring in a sharp 7″ IPS LCD with 1920 x 1200 resolution, 10-bit color processing, 1000 cd/m² brightness, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio.
Moving on, the display is powered by the PageOS 4 software platform. This software allows you to turn on and save pages of numerous tools and focusing aids. Additionally, users can get two individual software upgrades separately. These upgrades allow access to internal camera configuration settings.
Additionally, the Indie 7 has the ability to accept a Full 4K image, allowing for 1:1 Pixel Mapping. This in turn results in greater clarity during punch-in. Create Solutions said the monitor, with a video signal 4x the resolution of the display, users should notice a “significant” increase in sharpness when zooming in.
