Tamron has announced the new Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD for Sony E mount. The lens looks to be very versatile, lending itself to a variety of shooting situations.
What makes this lens so versatile is its focal length range. Its 28 to 200 mm range should make it good for uses like travel shooting. Essentially, it’s multiple lenses in one, allowing you to use it for many different situations without having to switch out lenses.
Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 overview
Taking a look inside, the 8-200mm f/2.8-5.6 is made from 18 elements in 14 groups. Additionally, it offers a maximum magnification of 0.32x. Also, it features hybrid aspherical, GM (Glass Molded Aspherical), XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion), and LD (Low Dispersion). Also, the lens features full-time manual focus override, moisture-resistant construction and fluorine coating to protect it from oil and dirt.
Weight-wise, the lens weighs 1.27 lbs, sports a zoom lock switch, and a rounded seven-blade diaphragm.
