Samsung continues to up the ante when it comes to gaming monitors. In 2017, they released the CHG90 49-inch gaming monitor, upgrading the resolution in 2019. This year, they announced the Odyssey G9. The Samsung Odyssey G9, Samsung’s largest 1000R gaming monitor to date, is available for pre-order now. Its curved display and performance features will take gaming to the next level.
According to Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, “The new Odyssey portfolio proves that Samsung is continuing to drive innovation with industry-leading technology and design that allow gamers to significantly better performances.”
Odyssey G9 overview
The combination of the Odyssey G9 features offers gamers the best gaming experience possible. The 49-inch monitor has a 1000R curvature, which according to Samsung, “matches the curve of the human eye.” This allows for minimal eye strain.
Additionally, the monitor has Samsung QLED, which ensures excellent picture quality. Samsung QLED utilizes Quantum Dot technology, which allows for 125% more color space when compared to sRBG. The Quantum Dot technology, along with the HDR1000 VA panel, produce lifelike colors and image quality. The monitor also boasts a dual QHD display, which produces detailed, pin-sharp images.
To top it all off, the Odyssey G9 has a rapid 240hz refresh rate, along with 1ms response time. The combination of the two, along with the 1000R curve “eliminates distractions and lag time, creating ultra-smooth transitions for critical gaming moments,” according to Samsung.
Alternatively, Samsung also offers the same performance in its G7 monitor models, which are available in 32″ and 27″.
