The professional audio and video manufacturer, Roland, has announced the new VC-100UHD 4K Video Scaler for A/V signal management during live events and streaming.
According to Roland, the VC-100UHD 4K Video Scaler will allow you to input 4K and 1080p video sources and distribute them to multiple locations simultaneously. This includes 4K LED walls, HD displays, and USB 3.0 live streams. Additionally, frame rates up to 240 HZ are supported. This will allow the solution to deliver “smooth” motion for esports and animated displays, according to Roland.
VC-100UHD’s build
Built with a “flexible” half-rack design, Roland says the VC-100UHD is a powerhouse that combines single-task tech with a compact size.
“Backed by a lightning-fast processing engine, the VC-100UHD’s Ultra Scaler provides premium quality conversion for perfectly synchronized big-screen IMAG and precise dot-by-dot scaling for LED wall displays,” said Roland.
You can process and convert video inputs to different resolutions
Either 12G-SDI or HDMI 2.0 video inputs can be automatically processed and converted into different resolutions. The inputs will then be ready for distribution at 12G-SDI, HDMI, and USB 3.0 rear-panel outputs. The VC-100UHD’s Ultra Scaler tech can simultaneously deliver a 1080p video at rates up to 240 Hz for a gaming monitor. For HD video systems, LED displays, and live streams, it can deliver rates up to 59.94/50 Hz.
Additional features
The VC-100UHD includes built-in visual effects. These effects include rotate, flip, trim, and mirror images on each output. Additionally, the system offers Frame Synchronizer and Genlock features. These features allow you to re-clock and stabilize video images.
With the system’s plug-and-play USB 3.0 webcam output, you can broadcast 1080p video at 59.94/50 Hz worldwide through mainstream streaming platforms. The VC-100UHD can process embedded digital audio from its 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 inputs as well. Analog I/O is offered along with balanced audio on a 25-pin D-sub connector. Also, the audio patching system allows you to route and embed/de-embed up to 16 input channels and output up to 8 channels.
