RØDE announces PodMic: a microphone for podcasters

RØDE Microphones has launched the PodMic, an XLR-connected, end-address dynamic microphone that’s made for every kind of podcaster.

RØDE’s PodMic works specifically with the RØDECaster Pro Podcast Production Studio and PSA1 studio arm. However, while the PodMic it can work with any XLR interface.

“This is the best end-address dynamic microphone in the world at this price and one of the best at any price. Peerless quality and price accessibility have been the cornerstones of our success and continue to ensure RØDE is the choice of today’s creative generation – the PodMic is a perfect example of that ethos. Together with the RØDECaster Pro, the PodMic will revolutionise podcasting,” said RØDE CEO Damien Wilson.

Made for Podcasting

RØDE says they “set out to create the ultimate Podcasting microphone.” The company claims the mic is durable, great-sounding, easy to use and flexible, making it great for everything between sports commentary or sit-down interviews. Additionally, the company claims the mic balanced, easy-to-listen-to vocal tone regardless of the recording situation.

No pops

Audio captured on the mic should be clear of pops. The end-fire dynamic capsule is surrounded by a stainless steel mesh grille and a integrated pop shield. So, this all should allow “you to get up close to the microphone for that intimate ‘radio’ sound,” says RØDE.
