Pixitmedia by Datacore unveils unified platform to streamline media workflows

Pixitmedia by Datacore has announced that it will be debuting its new unified platform to streamline media workflows at IBC2025. IBC2025 (International Broadcasting Convention) runs from September 12th to 15th in the Netherlands.

Who is Pixitmedia?

Pixitmedia is the media division of DataCore Software. The company provides nearline and active archive solutions and innovative workflow applications for dynamic media-driven organizations. Nearline storage is an intermediate type of data storage between online storage and offline storage or archiving. While not immediately available like online storage, nearline storage can be made quickly available without human intervention. Pixitmedia supplies media-centric storage and AI-enabled workflows to media and entertainment companies.

Unified platform

Pixitmedia’s new unified platform aims to help companies make better use of their digital assets across the media lifecycle. The company says that it enables media and entertainment organizations to locate, move and monetize their data easily and efficiently. It’s also built around the four core pillars of Discovery, Collaboration, Data Management and Orchestration.

  • Discovery: Smart indexing and metadata classification enable intuitive, fast search across storage layers, including previews and proxies for instant content verification.
  • Collaboration: Unified views and shared access across teams, sites and clouds eliminate data silos and ensure secure, auditable workflows.
  • Data Management: Intelligent data movement and active archives optimize cost access. Open formats and zero lock-in ensure freedom of data ownership.
  • Orchestration: Integrated pipeline automation, with secure transfer and event-driven workflows, speeds time to delivery and manual tasks.

AI-driven

The Pixitmedia platform integrates high-performance, multi-protocol file access, advanced media archiving, and AI-driven capabilities. As a result, it eliminates complexity, reduces operational costs, and simplifies workflows throughout every storage layer. This gives media teams unmatched visibility and control of their digital assets.

“As the demands on global media organizations grow, whether that’s managing increasing hybrid complexities, scaling workflows, or extracting content value more effectively, we recognized the need for a unified, forward-looking approach to data management. That insight shaped our strategy to deliver a more intelligent, connected, and efficient solution,” explained Barry Evans, SVP Product Development, Pixitmedia. “By eliminating fragmented systems across geographies or storage layers, the Pixitmedia platform adapts to each organization’s evolving needs, supporting both cloud-native and hybrid environments without lock-in.”

What we think

Over time, media and entertainment companies will build up vast libraries of media. Storage and management of these assets is complex, and archived files can be difficult to search and access. Pixitmedia is utilizing the power of AI so that companies can use their media assets more quickly and easily. It also means that businesses can monetize older media that might otherwise not be found in searches. This is great news for larger media organizations. However, it should also mean that the users of those services will have greater choice and faster access in the future.

Pricing and availability

Pixitmedia will be running live demonstrations of its unified platform, showcasing real-world workflows, on stand 7.D18 at IBC2025.
