Panasonic is gearing up to reveal the Lumix S5

Panasonic revealed some exciting news today. The company has announced a new full-frame mirrorless camera, the Lumix S5.

Currently, we don’t know much about the Lumix S5, however, we’ll know more very shortly. Panasonic announced that it will hold an online launch event for the new camera. According to the announcement, the camera will be unveiled in just a few weeks. The online event can be accessed at the company’s official website on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 10:00 EDT.

What can we expect from the Lumix S5?

While we don’t know the official specs of the Lumix S5, there are some things we can expect from the new full-frame mirrorless camera. First, many are expecting the S5 to be smaller in size and lower in price than the Lumix S1. If the rumors are correct, then it will be about 33% smaller than the S1. Naturally, since the camera is smaller, rumors also suggest the S5 will be lighter than the S1 as well — 38% lighter to be exact. However, these rumors should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, we do not know if these rumors are true or not and will have to wait for the official announcement.

Panasonic says more information will be added onto its holding page for the upcoming camera. Additionally, Panasonic’s official Lumix Instagram account will also post more information in the run-up to the launch. Once we know more about the Lumix S5, we will let you know. Stay tuned on September 2nd.
