OWC today has announced the Envoy Pro EX with USB-C. It’s the latest addition to the brand’s line of SSDs and external drives for professionals. OWC claims the Envoy Pro EX with USB-C is the fastest USB-C SSD ever built.
Envoy Pro EX performance and endurance
OWC says the Envoy Pro EX offers “production-level performance in a palm-sized package.” Its performance comes from the fast NVMe M.2 SSD. It offers speeds up to 980MB/s along with Thunderbolt 3 compatibility. Those kinds of speeds should allow you to get fast access to data without much interruption.
Design
The device is housed in anodized aluminum and is said to be “Lightweight, rugged and slim,” according to OWC. It should be able to fit into a small bag or coat pocket. Since it is portable, it should also be durable since it needs to be ready for the elements. The device is said to be waterproof enough to handle rainstorms, splashes, and being submerged underwater up to one meter.
