At CES 2019, Nvidia has revealed a new mid-range GPU, the RTX 2060, at a price point of just $349.
RTX 2060 Overview
The GPU will accompany Nvidia’s RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti models, and will be a budget option for those who still need solid performance. While it may be the cheapest of the group, it will offer higher performance than Nvidia’s GTX 1070 Ti, according to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. Huang also claimed the GPU is 60 percent faster than the GTX 1060, and will deliver “next-gen gaming for tens of millions of gamers.”
Nvidia says the card can run Battlefield V with ray-tracing at 60 frames per seconds, even with high settings and 1440p resolution. That is with the Core i9 processor. The GPU will come with 6GB of GDDR6 memory and 240 Tensor Cores.
The budget option
The difference in price is pretty notable. While the RTX 2060 costs just $349, the next option is $150 dollars more. That would be the $499 RTX 2070. The other options — the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti — costs $800 and $1,199, respectively. Those are big price differences.
Pricing and Availability
At launch, the RTX 2060 will be available in a number of graphics card partners. That differs from the RTX 2070, RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti, which were released only in a special Founders Edition. However, there will also be a Founders Edition for the RTX 2060.
