NVIDIA has unveiled a new superchip it says will reinvent the Windows PC. The RTX Spark promises powerful AI performance, next-level gaming and 12K video editing.
Power and efficiency
The NVIDIA RTX Spark superchip pairs a Blackwell RTX GPU with a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU, linked over NVIDIA’s NVLink-C2C chip-to-chip interconnect. The GPU carries 6,144 CUDA cores and fifth-generation Tensor cores with FP4 precision.That mix of power and efficiency can deliver high-level AI, content creation and gaming in slim Windows laptops with all-day battery life.
Personal AI agents
NVIDIA has teamed up with Microsoft on a platform for personal AI agents. RTX Spark offers up to 1 petaflop of AI compute and 128GB of unified memory. A 1 petaflop system handles a quadrillion (1,000,000,000,000,000) calculations per second, enough to meet the processing demands of on-device agents. That headroom lets you run AI like OpenClaw and Hermes Agent securely and privately on your own laptop.
“Our goal is to deliver unmetered intelligence to every home and every desk with Windows,” said Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft. “RTX Spark marks a real breakthrough towards that vision.”
Creativity and gaming
NVIDIA says RTX Spark can edit 12K 4:2:2 video using the NVIDIA Blackwell decoder. It can also render ultra-large 90 GB 3D scenes with OptiX and DLSS. For gaming, the chip promises AAA titles at 1440p and over 100 frames per second with ray tracing, DLSS and Reflex. The platform also brings fresh RTX features. Those include DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, built on a second-generation transformer model, in Blender 5.3 and dozens of games. RTX Video with 4x Frame Generation is also coming to ComfyUI.
Software support
NVIDIA says more than 100 Windows software providers are backing the RTX Spark platform. They include Adobe, Blackmagic Design, Blender and CapCut, plus game developers such as KRAFTON, NetEase, Remedy Entertainment, Riot Games and Xbox. “Portable, lightweight RTX Spark laptops with fantastic battery life are going to help our customers take the next leap in on-the-go production,” said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design.
Adobe Firefly
NVIDIA is also partnering with Adobe to rearchitect Premiere and Photoshop for RTX Spark. The work promises accelerated performance across hundreds of tools, including Firefly’s AI-powered Generative Fill in Photoshop and Generative Extend in Premiere. Premiere gets a new video pipeline that taps RTX Spark’s unified memory, Blackwell GPU and TensorRT software. The payoff is real-time editing and color correction, plus more efficient rendering of complex timelines. Adobe’s next-generation Photoshop engine, meanwhile, will be optimized for GPU-accelerated compositing, enabling live filters, high dynamic range and natural brushing.
When is RTX Spark coming?
NVIDIA says RTX Spark laptops and compact desktops will arrive in fall 2026. It’s promising laptops as slim as 14 millimeters and as light as three pounds. Screen sizes will run from 14 to 16 inches, wrapped in precision-machined aluminum chassis. Each laptop will carry a color-accurate tandem OLED display with NVIDIA G-SYNC for creative work and immersive gaming. At launch, RTX Spark-powered Windows PCs will come from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface and MSI. Acer and Gigabyte will add models later.
What we think
NVIDIA’s RTX Spark superchip squares up as a challenger to Apple’s M series. It promises better performance for everyone, whether you’re into AI, video editing or gaming. The focus seems to be creating on the go or on compact desktop PCs, rather than powerful workstations. That should mean some exciting new laptops for content creators by year’s end. NVIDIA hasn’t revealed pricing or full specs yet, and RTX Spark-powered PCs will likely command premium prices. If they deliver the performance promised, though, they could be worth every cent.
