New GoPro remote controls GoPros up to 196 ft away

The new Bluetooth remote, which GoPro has dubbed The Remote, allows you to control your GoPro at a distance.

The Remote is about the size of a smartwatch accessory. Its size makes it highly portable, and its rugged design ensures it won’t get damaged as you carry it around. According to GoPro, The Remote is “made tough” to “ensure the GoPro standard of rugged durability.” The Remote’s design does look to be fairly durable and it is waterproof up to 16 feet.

Overview

In total, The Remote can control GoPros up to 196ft (60m) in the best conditions. It can control up to five different GoPro cameras at a time and features a high-res screen. Also, to save on battery life, The Remote utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy to cut down energy consumption. Additionally, GoPro claims the pairing has been improved in this model than previous remotes the company has released.
