Neat Video, the popular noise reduction plug-in, has got an update to version 6.1. The latest release improves your workflow when working across multiple clips.
Noise reduction plug-in
Neat Video is a noise reduction plug-in. It’s compatible with more than 20 video editing and effects programs including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Davinci Resolve and Final Cut. You can use Neat Video to reduce visible noise, flicker and other imperfections in your footage. It’s also great for removing dust and scratches in digitized films or electric interference in analog video.
Neat Video’s user-friendly interface and automated processes mean you can clean up your video with just a few clicks.
Working with multiple clips
The latest release of Neat Video is version 6.1. To remove noise with the plug-in, you first have to create a noise profile from your video clip. With the latest version of Neat Video, new controls make it easier to set up the Default Noise Profile and Default Filter Preset when working with a clip from a series. When you apply the filter to other clips in the same series, the new filter instances automatically load the Default Noise Profile and Default Filter Preset. As a result, it’s much simpler and quicker to denoise clips with similar noise levels.
Other new features
Neat Video 6.1 has an improved display for profile and preset names. This makes it clear and easy to see when you are using the Device Noise Profile and Filter settings. The new version of the plug-in also has several new reset controls. As a result, you can reset the current noise profile from the Device Noise Profile panel or the Profile menu. Additionally, you can use the new Reset button at the bottom of the Preferences dialog to reset the settings for the current Preferences page or for all Preferences pages. The GPU-based processing on Apple Silicon hardware has been optimized for the M3, M4 and M5 series of Apple GPUs in Neat Video 6.1 as well.
What we think
There will always be times when your video has more noise than you would like. You can’t always light a scene, especially with documentary or live event filming. Neat Video is an ideal solution in that situation. While some editing programs have their own noise reduction options, Neat Video is a simple to use plug-in that often delivers better results. You can also control the level of noise to leave some grain for a more film-like look or remove it completely for clean video.
Plus, with the latest version, it’s now quicker and easier than ever to work on multiple clips from a shoot. Even better, you can download a free trial version to try Neat Video before you commit to buying the plug -in.
Pricing and availability
Neat Video 6.1 is available now, and licenses start from $79.90 depending upon the platform you want to use it on. You can also buy discounted licence bundles if you work with more than one editing program.
Anyone with a license for a previous version can take advantage of a discounted upgrade price by logging into the Neat Video website.
