The Deity Microphones PR-4 is a compact, camera-top audio recorder targeted toward documentary and broadcast producers as well as online video creators.
Get to know the Deity PR-4
This 32-bit float recorder is the same size as similar competing recorders. However, this new model from Deity Mics offers four inputs and supports six separate audio tracks.
The Deity PR-4 could slim down your audio setup even more thanks to its ReGain Preamps. These newly developed preamps promise up to 60 dB of gain, which is enough to drive a dynamic microphone with an external inline booster. With an equivalent input noise of -127 dBV, the PR-4 should be able to leverage its ReGain Preamps to consistently deliver low noise and a clear signal.
Beyond hardware
In addition, the Deity Microphones PR-4 ships with Deity’s VoiceAware Automix feature. Automix is designed to give sound editors a jumpstart with intelligent microphone management. Deity claims Automix can keep audio clear and clean, even with multiple speakers.
The PR-4 also comes equipped with built-in noise reduction and wireless timecode transmission compatible with the rest of the Deity timecode ecosystem. When paired with the Sidus App, the PR-4 supports full wireless remote control.
Inputs and outputs
The PR-4 features two XLR inputs and on stereo 3.5 mm TRS input. Outputs include two stereos 3.5 mm outputs, a 3.5 mm timecode i/o and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. With this, the PR-4 supports custom matrix routing and full metadata capture. It boasts more than eight hours of battery life on a built-in rechargeable battery.
Finally, a potential life-saver. The Deity PR-4 offers dual media audio capture. This recorder supports up to 1 TB SD cards and provides a built-in internal 64 GB SSD safely inside the unit. This means you won’t lose your audio recording, even if you lose your SD card.
Pricing and availability
