Mocha Pro 2019.5 adds long-requested OFX plug-in support

The new Mocha Pro 2019.5 comes out with OFX plug-in support for Flame artists, new edge-snapping spline tools and a new AE Power Pin export option.

Besides the boost to performance with large projects and bug fixes, Boris FX wants Mocha Pro 2019.5 to focus on making users workflows easier and more flexible. Let’s look at the features the software now packs:

Flame support

Now, users can use Mocha Pro in Flame 2020 as an OFX plug-in. That’s been a feature many have wanted for a long time. It’s good to see it finally come to Mocha Pro. You can use Mocha in a batch effect, create a new effects node and load Mocha Pro from the Boris effects Mocha folder. After that, you feed your source footage to the source input and open Mocha from the “launch mocha” button in the node parameters.

With Flame support, you can create new or import previous projects like any other Mocha effect.

Edge-Snapping

Selecting edges of any object or subject is tedious and time-consuming. Now, the new Mocha Pro 2019.5 supports edge-snapping selection. You can now select points by pressing the ‘Alt+S’ key to snap the points to the nearest edge. You can also hold S to drag snap.

After Effects CC power pin export

Also in the new Mocha Pro 2019.5, the software supports After Effects CC power pin export. The software now exports corner pins to the Power Pin effect.

Layout Manager

We all like our own personal layouts and workspaces. Now Mocha Pro can save, modify and order layouts from the View menu. Any new layouts that you create will appear in the workspace drop down.

Spline and Matte rendering performance improvements

Many features’ speeds have been improved in the newest Mocha Pro. Projects with a ton of layers or control points now render much faster to screen. Mattes also should render a lot faster than before.

Autosave now have backups

Additionally, you can now iterate autosaves looking to make sure work isn’t lost. Autosaves are no longer removed on exit.

Pricing and availability

The update is out right now and is free to Mocha Pro owners. The base price for a new Mocha Pro license is $695. You can learn more at borisfx.com.
