The 128 GB SD card has the slowest maximum write speed of 120 MB/s while the 64 GB option is a little faster at 130 MB/s. The Silver Pro SDXC cards have a Video Speed Class rating of V60. Lexar says that this is suitable for recording in 1080p and 4K.
Lexar Silver Series CFexpress Type B card
The new Silver Series CFexpress Type B cards are available as 512 GB, 256 GB and 128 GB capacities. The cards have maximum read speeds of 1750 MB/s and write speeds up to 1300 MB/s. Lexar claims that this is suitable for up to 8K video. In addition, the Silver Series CFexpress Type B cards are backwards compatible with some XQD cameras.
The Silver Pro SDXC cards have a limited lifetime warranty. However the Silver Series CFexpress Type B cards only have a 10 year limited warranty.
What we think
The new Silver series cards have slightly lower specifications than the Lexar premier Diamond and Gold range series cards. However they are also half the price of those cards which makes them good value for money. The V60 rating of the Silver Pro SD card isn’t fast for some high end cinema cameras but will be more than enough for many users. If you are looking for some new memory cards that won’t break the bank, then the Lexar new Silver Series might be the ones for you.
