This week, we got news Irix is releasing a new fast full-frame lens: the Irix 45mm f/1.4. The lens will be available for Nikon, Canon and Pentax cameras.
First glance at this lens, the 45mm f/1.4 looks like it will be suited for both hybrid and photo-centered cameras. Video shooters should find its iris control on the barrel and its wide focus ring particularly handy.

Irix 45mm f/1.4 overview
The lens features a 9 rounded aperture diaphragm. This aperture should allow the lens to capture a beautiful bokeh effect. As for its design, the lens it is built with an internal metal construction and composite elements. According to Irix, this will make the lens lightweight. As for the focus grip, it has an embossed texture and a focus marker. The focus also has a lock.
All focus and aperture markers are filled with UV reactive paint. This allows you to see the markings in low light situations.

Let’s talk about the Irix 45mm f/1.4’s durability
