Insta360 updates its app, boosting usability and performance

The 360 camera company, Insta360, just dropped a major update to its app. The update adds significant improvements to the app’s speed and makes the user experience more streamlined.

Insta360 redesigns the app’s UI

A major function of the mobile app is to work as a shooting tool. It allows creators to preview shots and adjust camera settings remotely.

Insta360 redesigned the app’s UI interface. According to the company, it has a cleaner, more logical layout. For instance, you can switch between shooting modes by swiping at the bottom of the screen to pull up a list of all shooting modes. Insta360’s reworked the export page as well. Its redesign puts the customization export settings front and center.

A faster user experience in the Insta360 app

Insta360 claims export rates are 100 times faster than they were before the update. Videos in albums load quicker also. Expect to see a 300 to 500 percent speed boost when navigating the app’s album. Both Android and iOS users will see a dramatic increase in speed when using the app. So, nobody’s missing out.

Editing optimization

Editing videos on mobile can be tedious, especially when navigating through the timeline. In this update, Insta360 aims to make it easier to navigate while editing. Now, you can zoom in on the timeline with a long press. To go back to the whole timeline, release the slider. Also, you can navigate through video albums by swiping.

Insta360 has also added the ability to put multiple music tracks in the same clip when editing in Stories — a highly requested feature.

How to get the update

The updated mobile app is now open on both iOS and Android with the Insta360 GO 2, ONE X2, ONE R and ONE X. You can download the update now.
