Applications are now open for the 2026 GFX Challenge Grant Program. Sponsored by Fujifilm, it splits $100,000 in grants among 15 winners.
Grant program
Fujifilm launched the GFX Challenge Grant Program in 2021 to develop the skills of emerging content creators. Winners get funding to make work on subjects that matter to them. The company also loans camera gear to everyone it selects.
What are the grants?
The program hands out five Global Grant Awards worth $10,000 each. Another 10 Regional Grant Awards go out at $5,000 apiece.
Every winner also gets free use of a GFX System camera body for the length of the project, including the Fujifilm GFX Eterna 55 8K cinema camera. Two GF lenses come with it. Fujifilm technicians and product experts round things out with mentoring and technical support.
What happens to the finished projects?
Projects can be still photography or video. Whichever you choose, production has to wrap by May 17, 2027.
Once the program ends, the winners’ final work goes up on fujifilm-x.com. Fujifilm will also stage a run of exhibitions to show the projects in several countries.
How can I apply?
Applications stay open until August 17, 2026. Amateurs and professionals are welcome, whether you shoot photos or video, anywhere in the world.
You’ll need to submit a cover letter, a project proposal and a portfolio for everyone involved. Judging runs across three rounds before the final picks. Fujifilm announces the recipients in January 2027. Full details live on the GFX Challenge Grant Program web page.

This is a rare shot at funding a project that actually means something to you. Beyond the cash, you get free use of Fujifilm’s GFX Eterna 55 8K cinema camera and a pair of GF lenses. The mentoring matters just as much, especially if you’re still sharpening your craft.
