Insta360’s latest 360 camera takes the combined concept to new places. The Insta360 EVO switches shooting modes by folding and can streaming to VR headsets.
After the One X 5.7K camera, Insta360’s taken a unique approach to its next camera. The Insta360 Evo is a dual-mode camera, meaning it can shoot both 180 3D and 360 footage. It can switch between the two when you manually fold the camera back to capture 360 footage.
What’s really intriguing, though, is that this new camera can directly stream content to VR headsets like HTC Vive Focus, Oculus Go and Samsung Gear VR.

Shooting specs
When shooting 360 and 180-degree 3D footage, the Insta360 EVO can reach resolutions of 5.7K, similar to the Insta360 ONE X. As for the photos, they are captured at 18 MP. Plus, it comes with features like FlowState stabilization, TimeShift
Foldable design
This isn’t the first time a camera company’s released a combined camera. Vuze has the XR 3D and Kandao has its QooCam, though the Kandao takes a slightly different approach in its design. The flexibility of these cameras means you shoot in the format best suited to your subject and target audience.
