EIZO has launched the ColorEdge CS3200X 4K color management LCD monitor. It’s the first 31.5-inch 4K model in the ColorEdge CS series, which delivers color accuracy at a lower price than EIZO’s professional CG range.
New larger screen
The CS3200X features a 31.5-inch panel with 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels). The extra real estate makes fine detail easier to evaluate in both stills and video. It also leaves more room for complex timelines when editing.
A new three-sided frameless design minimizes the borders across the top and sides of the screen. According to EIZO, the look “brings a modern aesthetic and an immersive viewing experience to any creative workspace.” A magnetic shading hood ships in the box to cut glare and reflections.
Color you can trust
The CS3200X supports Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) for broadcast plus Perceptual Quantization (PQ) for film and streaming HDR production. Its wide color gamut covers 99% of Adobe RGB and 96% of DCI-P3. That means faithful color reproduction across photography, video, print or design workflows. Preset modes for DCI-P3 and BT.709 cover standard video pipelines, while Display P3 keeps things consistent with Apple computers and mobile devices.

Digital Uniformity Equalizer technology
The ColorEdge CS3200X uses EIZO’s patented Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) technology to keep brightness and chromaticity consistent from edge to edge. The result is accurate color across every part of the screen.
Each monitor is factory-adjusted individually, so gamma behavior stays predictable out of the box. EIZO supplies a factory report detailing uniformity, gamma, gamut coverage and color temperature measurements for your specific unit. An optional dedicated calibration sensor is available for the CS3200X and pairs with EIZO’s ColorNavigator 7 color management software.
10‑bit display performance
The CS3200X offers 10-bit display performance powered by a 16-bit LUT. This delivers smooth gradations and lets the monitor render more than a billion color tones. Keep in mind you’ll need a graphics board and software that support 10-bit video output to take advantage.
Connectivity covers the usual bases. A single USB-C cable handles video signal, USB data and up to 70 W of power delivery. DisplayPort and HDMI inputs are available as alternatives. The built-in USB hub provides one Type B upstream port with four Type A downstream ports.
What we think
If you’re shooting video or stills, getting the colors right matters. The only way to be sure is to use a color-calibrated monitor, ideally paired with a dedicated graphics board that outputs a clean video signal.
The CS3200X slots into EIZO’s ColorEdge CS line, which offers color-accurate 10-bit displays at a lower price than the premium CG range. CS monitors skip the built-in calibration sensor found on CG models, but they’re accurate enough for plenty of working professionals.
The option to add an external sensor here is a nice hedge against drift over time. For anyone who earns a living behind a camera, the CS3200X is worth a serious look.
Pricing and availability
EIZO says that the ColorEdge CS3200X will begin shipping in June this year. The monitor will also be on show at NAB in Las Vegas later this month. EZIO hasn’t released pricing details yet. However, for comparison, the smaller 27-inch CS2740 has a list price of $1,947 so the CS3200X will probably cost more than that.
